David

David, a copy that stands in front of Palazzo Vecchio.




He's my favourite statue, I think you can tell from these pictures I took.



The original is in The Accademia Gallery. I insisted to go there, just to take a look at David.



It was sculpted from 1501 to 1504, by Michelangelo.

Hmm. Why all those steel pipes around the statue? Were they renovating or trying to keep admirers away? :-)

Haha Shantanu, they were renovating, definitely not to keep people away :-) Too bad I can't find the photos I took in The Accademia Gallery ...

Do you know that there is also a replica placed in Pune, India ? According to Wiki, tt is installed at the Administrative Building of the University of Pune on Aundh Road :-)

Wow! That's interesting. The Pune Univ is very close to where I live. If I go there to check it out, I will remember to take a pic!
